Hebrew Union College –Jewish Institute of Religion
תוכנית לימודים בת 13 חודשים להכשרת מורים לעברית בבתי ספר יהודים
DeLeT L’Ivrit is a 13- month fellowship program which features a mentored internship teaching Hebrew and Judaic Studies in a Jewish day school.
The program is designed for both newcomers to the field and for current assistant teachers seeking to enhance their teaching through formal education.
The program includes:
- weekly seminars and intensive summer studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s Jack H. Skirball Campus in Los Angeles, CA.
- professional development and personal growth and fulfill your values and goals, as you demonstrate your commitment to serving the Jewish people.
- Emerge prepared for the California Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
- Certificate in Day School Teaching from HUC-JIR
תכנית מתוקשבת ללימודי תעודה בהוראת עברית כשפה נוספת
An online program for teaching Hebrew as an additional language. The courses are recognized by the Israel Ministry of Education.
- Online 90-minute meet-ups on topics in a variety of fields. Participation is free of charge, but early registration is recommended in order to receive instructions and other information.
- Online seminars – series of four 90-minute sessions, spread over a two week period. The sessions represent various approaches – theoretical and practical – to a selected topic. The sessions are held in different formats, including lectures, discussion panels and workshops, and allow for conversation and discussion between lecturers and participants. The next seminar in the field of Hebrew instruction will take place in January 2020. Additional information will be advertised soon.

Hebrew Doctor of Modern Languages Program
The goal of the DML in Hebrew is to prepare excellent language educators who would advance the field of teaching and learning of Hebrew as leading educators and researchers.
Students in the DML program spend the equivalent of three semesters face-to-face either at the School of Hebrew on the Middlebury campus during the summer or in another approved location (total of 9 units).
An additional three courses will be in the form of independent study over three academic years.
