MISSION

Hagigah Ivrit (חגיגה עברית), “a festival of Hebrew”, will raise the profile of Hebrew in North America by creating and supporting local events and activities that celebrate the language and its culture.

Through comprehensive programming, Hagigah Ivrit aims to strengthen the importance of
Hebrew for enthusiasts of all backgrounds and levels of familiarity with the language.

Hagigah Ivrit will take place in North America from March 15th through April 1st, 2020.

ABOUT

Hagigah Ivrit (חגיגה עברית) is an annual  celebration of Hebrew that will take place from March 15th through April 1st, 2020.

Sponsored by the Council for Hebrew Language and Culture in North America, The Steinhardt Foundation for Jewish Life, and the World Zionist Organization, Hagigah Ivrit will feature a variety of artistic and academic events that aims to engage a wide range of audiences in the beauty of the Hebrew language, aims to stimulate interest in and excitement for Hebrew culture, and expand the use of Hebrew language in North America.

Hebrew is a language both old and new, the language of both the Bible and the daily life of modern Israel. We invite you to join us at a wide range of events celebrating Hebrew – the vibrant language of Israel expressed in its literature, movies, songs, and more.
